RESULTS: Local Elections 2025

Last Thursday, 1 May 2025, local and mayoral elections took place in many parts of England. Elections in the East of England were held in Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, while elections in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Thurrock were postponed until 2026 following the proposed reorganisation of local government in these areas. Note: no council-wide elections were due to be held in Bedfordshire, Central Bedfordshire, Luton or Southend-on-Sea.
In Cambridgeshire the Liberal Democrats gained overall control of the County Council:

In Hertfordshire the Conservatives lost overall control leaving the County Council without a majority and the Liberal Democrats as the largest party:
