Towards a Skills strategy for the East

The EPH has identified several specific challenges for education & skills in the East, including:

• Higher than average skills gaps and shortages affecting key industry sectors

• A fragmented transport system, making it costly and time-consuming for students to travel to school, college, work experience and apprenticeships.

• The disparity between GCSE and A-level school results in high performing counties (Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire) and counties such as Suffolk, which perform below average.
